In this section, you will learn all about the most common eye conditions, how they affect sight as well as some simulations for demonstration purposes. Knowing how sight loss affects different people with different conditions is important to understanding the challenges that blind and partially sighted people face.

This section will teach you how to look after your eyes and preserve your sight as best you can, with handy tips scientifically proven to reduce the risk of sight loss. Looking after your eyes is as important as any other part of your body. Our sight is a priceless tool. However, many of us neglect this vital sense until it is too late.

Our Campaigns

At Bradbury Fields we are dedicated to improving the lives of blind and partially sighted people through accessibility campaigns. We are also supporters of the prevention of blindness agenda. In this section you can learn more about our work to make our local area and further afield a more diverse and healthy place.

Visual Awareness Training

This comprehensive day course offers an understanding of visual impairment and the psychological and functional effects. It is vital our visual awareness training is undertaken by any front line staff working with blind and partially sighted people. It makes a very important addition to the CV of anyone working in social care, service or teaching. The course is both interesting and informative, with 94% of respondents rating it as either “Very Good” or “Excellent”. These courses are important for fostering diversity and equality for disabled people.
