Carol provides specialist assessments, training and support to visually impaired people in Liverpool and has an expertise in the assessment and training of people with a dual sensory loss. Carol is our resident family tree expert and has had great success tracing her own family. She loves history and enjoys spending time with animals.

Originally working with us as a Rehabilitation Worker for children Dawn transferred to adults in 2003. Dawn now provides specialist assessments, training and support to visually impaired people in Liverpool and has an expertise in the assessments and training with Low Vision Aids. Whilst off duty Dawn can usually be found either camping or enjoying walks in the country with her dog Doog.

Pat Marteau

Rehabilitation Assistant

Pat has been a team member since joining us in February 1999. She was initially employed as a support worker then progressed to a Rehabilitation Assistant supporting our Rehabilitation Workers. Pat has citywide responsibility for carrying out assessments and individual care plans predominantly for those in care and sheltered housing. Pat also assesses clients for specialist equipment to enable their independence. When not working Pat enjoys dining out as well as country and coastal walks with family and friends.

Paul White

Paul is our in house specialist when it comes to Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance.   He helps people with new claims, reviews of rates received and help to increase them if appropriate.   Paul has a wonderful and creative mind he shows this through his art work which is once seen never forgotten, trust us!

Glen Flatley

Trust Funding Officer
Started in this role: July 2012

Glen was previously the Income Generation Manager at Bradbury Fields until he left in 2008 to take up a specialist fundraising role as a trust fundraiser with RNIB. He returned to Bradbury Fields in 2012 to work a couple of days a month raising funds from charitable trusts and foundations for our services and projects. Glen has been extremely successful with his bids, enabling us to develop existing services and introduce new ones that enhance the lives of visually impaired people. Away from work Glen can be found at Anfield following his beloved Liverpool or spending time with the family in their caravan in North Wales.

In this post Corinna is the link between service users, hospital services and Bradbury Fields, providing specialist assessment and support to visually impaired people.  When Corinna manages to switch off from her work she enjoys tandem riding going to the gym, dancing and relaxing with a good book.  She enjoys entertaining and most of all spending quality time with her husband, two boys and first granddaughter. Not forgetting her cute miniature dachshund Poppy. Since 2011 she has been a public speaker for the Macular Society.

Lorraine takes care of all our reception needs from meeting and greeting to answering the phones and sign posting callers. Whilst off duty Lorraine enjoys spending time with her gorgeous grand children

Vic locks up the building at the end of each working day, when he is not jangling his jailer’s keys he is usually feeding his fish and visiting various aquariums around the city.

Wally is responsible for keeping our building clean and tidy. He also takes great pride in keeping the centre gardens a beautiful place for service users to relax in. After work Wally enjoys admiring his crystal collection whilst singing along to John Lennon, don’t ask!

Marie Messin

Marie joined Bradbury Fields in July 2010 as the Children and Young People Rehabilitation Officer providing a service in Liverpool & Knowsley.  Marie transferred in August 2012 to the Bradbury Fields Knowsley Visual Impairment Service and now works with Adults, providing specialist assessments, training and support to visually impaired people.  In May 2013 Marie completed a Low Vision Therapy course and provides a Low Vision Service on behalf of St. Helen's Eye Clinic to visually impaired residents in Knowsley.  Marie enjoys gardening and has a yard with potted plants, that is when she is not ferrying her children to their various sports activities! A Tottenham Hotspur fan warming to Liverpool!

Emma looks after our Knowsley team’s administration needs such as answering calls, taking referrals, filing and much more! Previously Emma trained and qualified as an Optical Lab Technician & Human Resources Manager. Outside of work Emma loves to spend time with her young son Riley and loves to snuggle her baby pug Darcie.

Hilary Butter

Hilary has been an ECLO with Bradbury Fields since June 2005, having originally joined us in 1996 as Equipment and Registrations Officer. In her current post she is the link between service users, hospital services and Bradbury Fields, providing specialist assessment and support to visually impaired people. Hilary is her father’s carer and taxi driver. She enjoys looking after their Golden Retriever, Bruno, meeting with friends, theatre outings, concerts and visiting art galleries.
